Following DARA’s victory at Eurovision 2026 and Bulgaria’s resounding success, the question “where will the 2027 edition take place?” has sparked a great deal of curiosity. Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv, and Burgas were among the cities considered — and now we have the official answer, announced in August: Eurovision 2027 will take place in Burgas, on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.

The choice fits the spirit of the contest perfectly: sea, beaches, a promenade, and a city accustomed to welcoming visitors from all over Europe. For Bulgaria, this is a historic moment — the country’s first-ever hosting of Eurovision.

• 15 May 2027 – Grand Final

An event of this scale is expected to attract tens of thousands of fans from across Europe, so it is worth thinking about accommodation and flights well in advance.

How to Get There from Romania

There are currently no direct flights from Romania to Burgas, and airlines’ schedules for summer 2027 have not yet been finalized — Burgas Airport has announced that new routes will be published gradually.

The simplest option is to fly to Sofia, which already has good connections with Romania, and continue from there to Burgas. Here is what the Sofia–Burgas journey looks like depending on the means of transport:

• Plane: approximately 50 minutes (Bulgaria Air will increase the number of flights between 2 and 19 May 2027, with up to two flights per day)
• Car: approximately 3.5 hours
• Bus: approximately 5.5 hours, with direct services
• Train: approximately 5.5 hours or more, direct

So, the complete route is straightforward: Romania → Sofia → Burgas, with the final leg (Sofia–Burgas) being particularly quick by plane or, for those who prefer greater flexibility, by car.

A Perfect Opportunity for a Holiday in Bulgaria

If Bulgaria has traditionally been a summer destination for many Romanians, 2027 brings an extra reason to visit in May: walks along the Black Sea, the international atmosphere of Eurovision, and, on the evening of 15 May, the Grand Final.
